850th Engineer Aviation Battalion (EAB)

The 850th landed on Utah Beachhead on D + 14, where they built a “Cub” field. From there they proceeded to airfield construction at Querville, Gaem, Iannes, Alençon, Vitry, Reims, Haye, Nancy and many other places. By Easter, 1945, they had crossed the Rhine where they completed five fields and six S and Es.
