Hi, my father, Roger Gabaldon Jr, shortly after VE day was discharged from the 826 EAB. I know he drove different trucks and also ran a camoflauge truck. He was also injured when a cement truck he was in overturned. I have submitted a couple of pictures of him and a friend of his which are supposed to be posted by Mr Little, the site administrator. I also have a map of the ETO which he has outlined the route he took starting with his arrival in England through his departure from Europe. If anyone has any knowledge of the 826th and maybe any knowledge of my father, I would like to hear from you. Thanks, his son, Dennis Gabaldon.

Dennis,

I don't have any information on your father, but I've been blogging my grandfather's story at http://claudesstory.wordpress.com, including his time in the 826th during WWII. You might find the stories interesting - your father was probably in the same places.

Matt

Matt,
I read your Granfather's story, very interesting. My Dad talked a lot about his time in the Army, but not until his later years. It's just too bad he didn't write it down. I have a picture of him and a friend outside of St Marie Eglise, in June of 1944. I think his name is Wilcox, he wrote it across the picture. The other pictures he had were from the concentration camp, I believe it was Buchenwald. He also had a map of the European theatre, and has marked it with a line showing their positions.

I have quite a bit of information about the 826th provided me by Gene Swinson 3rd platoon, Co C, 826th. I know I have at least two photos of Claude Haskins...... Matt e mail me......

Gene was an artist and musician and was detached most of the time he was in England but managed to land with the unit on Normandy.

Looking for information and photos of Gene Swinson, 3rd platoon, Co C, 826th.
