I am looking for information about the 831st Engineer (Aviation) Battalion after 29 Feb 1944 during WWII. My father was with the 831st as they constructed the airfield at Chipping Ongar/Willingale, Essex, England from August 1942 until he was injured in a fall from a hangar his squad was helping to construct at another airfield. His back and ankle were broken and he was taken to hospital in Manchester before being shipped back to the states. He never rejoined the unit and never heard what became of them. I would appreciate any information about the history of the 831st after 29 Feb 1944.
