David,

I have the following info from the WWII Veteran French Legion of Honor award ceremony by the Houston Texas French Councilate in 2014:

"Albert Aarlie, you were 19 when you arrived in Normandy on D-Day + 2. With the 834th Engineer Aviation Battalion, you turned an emergency landing strip into an evacuation field that saved hundreds of lives. Your campaign brought you through Northern France to the Rhineland and Ardennes where you fought in the Battle of the Bulge. You were awarded a Presidential Distinguished Unit Citation and received 3 Bronze service stars for your European campaign."

I hope that you can add his name to the 834th roster. I was there to receive same award on behalf of my father, G.C. Rea-819th EAB. All veterans had to submit evidence of their service in liberating France.
