He may have been following WWII. From my records, I found a report from him, dated 31 May 1944, where he is listed as 1st Lt Ibsen R. Filippone, Supply Officer (S-4), 846th EAB. The CO at the time was Lt Col Charles A. Armstrong.

In the 24 June 1944 Unit Periodic Report, he signs the S-4 section as Capt Ibsen R Filippone, so he was promoted sometime in early June 1944.

In the March 1945 Unit History report, it is noted that Capt Ibsen R. Filippone was relieved as S-4 and transferred to hospital. No note was made as to why. In this same report, Lt Col Armstrong was replaced by Major William J Battison as CO, 846th EAB.

I did not see any other mentions of Capt Filippone through the last report I have, Sept 1945. He could have taken command after the war but my records are only for the period of WWII.

I also glanced through the history of the 924th EAR, to which the 846th EAB was attached, but found no other information.
